Share
One of the things about an anxiety brain is that it often wants to focus on things that are upsetting, worrisome, or that you’d just rather not think about. Memorizing scriptures is a great way to help! Working on memorization gives you something positive to focus on, instead of thinking about whatever is worrying you. Here are 10 easy scripture verses to memorize from the King James Bible that can help you focus on faith in God and overcoming your anxiety.
1. Exodus 14:14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
I love this reminder that I don’t need to fight, but should instead focus on peace.
2. Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
This is a Psalm written by King David. Just like God delivered King David, God can deliver you too.
3. Isaiah 41:13 For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
I love the imagery of God holding my hand. How wonderful does that feel to imagine?
4. Jeremiah 1:8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
God is with us to deliver us too!
5. Joel 2:21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things.
I love how cheerful and hopeful this verse is. What do you imagine it looks like when the land is rejoicing?
6. Matthew 17:7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
Stand up, don’t be afraid. I love this message from Jesus.
7. Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Here’s a cheerful reminder that God has great things in store for you!
8. John 6:20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
This is what Jesus said to the disciples in the ship when He was walking on the sea.
9. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
I absolutely love this verse. God wants power, love, and a sound mind for you!
10. 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
There’s no care too big or too small to give to God. He cares about you, and so He cares about what you care about.
