Read the Book of Mormon in 2025

2025 is just around the corner! I always set some New Year’s Resolutions, and this year I am going to be reading the Book of Mormon in addition to the Doctrine & Covenants for Come Follow Me.

Here are a few different ideas to help you read the Book of Mormon in 2025.

  1. Read the Book of Mormon in one year.  I have done this before. If you have a paper copy, you need to read a page and a half, or three columns, to get through the 531 pages of the Book of Mormon in one year.  Pros- it’s pretty short and easy daily reading! Cons- you have to remember and stick with it for the entire year. You also have to bring your paper copy along if you’re traveling away from home. This is totally doable, but requires the most consistency to complete.
  2. Read the Book of Mormon in 90 days.  I can often stick to my resolutions for the first quarter of the year.  Reading the Book of Mormon in 90 days means reading about 6 pages every day.  Here is a free printable chart with the references you need to complete each day if you prefer that to counting pages!
  3. Listen to the Book of Mormon in 1 month.  The Book of Mormon audio is available for free in the google play store or apple app store. It’s 28 hours and 51 minutes in total, which means listening to 55 minutes every day to complete it in one month.  Or, if you like speeding up your audio books, you can complete the book in less total time.  Listening is an easy way to incorporate scriptures into your daily life because you can accomplish other tasks at the same time.
  4. Read the Book of Mormon in one month. This requires reading about 17 pages every day.  Here is a free printable to help you keep track of how far to read each day.

Which version appeals most to you? I still have a couple days to decide, but I think I’m going to read a paper copy in one year and listen in one month. I like the idea of a short term goal and a long term goal.  Like many of you, my New Year’s Resolutions don’t always last the whole year! That’s okay! We are better off for trying and failing than we would be if we didn’t try at all.
